This is the third and final colourway of Concept’s Nike Air Max 1 collaboration which draws inspiration from music festival culture of the late ’60s. With a mix of paisley bandana print, washed denim and more nodding to the fashion of festival goers. Floral medial Swooshes nod to the bohemian flower power spirit of the era, while “mud” speckled midsoles draw inspiration from getting your shoes dirty at festivals held in parks.
There are also direct nods to Woodstock incorporated into the design. The hits of cowhide nod to the cows roaming the grounds of the festival hosted on the farm in Bethel, NY, while the “Slash Star Moon” embroidery on the toe box are a nod to the graphics found on the physical tickets to the festival.
Concepts is dubbing this colourway as a F&F exclusive release, though not Friends & Family, but “Folks & Fans.” It comes with tons of extra goodies, all housed in the Concepts Journey to Forever box which resembles a vintage VW Microbus. Those who entered and won the in-store raffle will get the purple edition, while those who purchase online on Air Max Day will get the blue box. Accessories included inside are a poncho inspired by the rain-filled festival days in the fields of Bethel, NY, double album-styled mini record coasters, a paisley bandana mirroring the accents of the “Far Out,” and a trippy sticker pack.
